Each side comprises 43 pieces — 86 for the pair. The top flat sheet, engraved with the NYX pattern, reduces progressively: every piece measures 86% of the previous one. The top curve is exponential, also inspired by 86: the exponential of 86% of the natural numbers.

The car's wiring harness connects through a military-spec connector. At the back sit two microcontrollers — the brain. One processes the radio-frequency mode signals; the other feeds those modes to the LEDs, lighting 430+ LEDs behind the transparent pieces exactly as designed. Unlike other so-called custom 86 taillights, every single LED can be controlled — with countless modes, switched by remote through an RF receiver at the back.
